Family reunification under the Asylum Act
If you already have asylum, subsidiary protection or a residence permit in Austria, for example under the „Bleiberecht“ , you have the option of bringing your close family members from your home country to Austria under certain circumstances.
We will be happy to advise you on the possibilities of bringing your underage children and spouse to Austria.
Application requirements
The following conditions must be met in order for a residence permit to be granted:
Sufficient means of subsistence:
- Third-country nationals must have a stable and regular income to ensure a standard of living that does not require recourse to public social assistance. The income must correspond to certain reference rates in accordance with the ASVG.
Health insurance cover:
- Third-country nationals must have health insurance that provides benefits in Austria and covers all risks.
Local accommodation:
- Third-country nationals must prove that they have a legal right to accommodation. This accommodation must be customary for a family of comparable size in the local area.
